First Nonfiction Reading
First Nonfiction Reading

First Nonfiction Reading is a three-level reading series for young, emergent-level readers that helps students transition from phonics to reading. Each realistic passage is based on a school subject and helps bridge fiction and nonfiction topics. Every unit has a clear learning objective. The vocabulary in each unit focuses on three specific areas to help emergent-level readers improve reading competency. Key words build core vocabulary, phonics words improve essential phonics skills, and sight words increase reading speed and fluency. Students also learn a natural English expression at the end of every passage. The speaking and writing sections in each unit help students to improve additional skills through reading. Students will move from learning-to-read to reading-to- learn in this enjoyable course.
